Consuming Fire by San-T Consuming Fire by San-T
I worked for quite a while on this piece, one of those things that don't come easy.
Even it being a still image, I feel that everything is moving and rotating.

Acrylic on 24x36" / 60x90cm stretched canvas.

It seems you usually make perfect circles, and your use of ellipses in this piece gives it perspective & makes it look as though the design is popping off the page.

Thank you, I'm trying to get away from my usual circle and experiment with other things I might like =]

Love your usage of colors.... And you paint fast :P
I didn't log on for only a couple of days and you already have 3 paintings up and that skeleton sketch... That's really admirable.

Step one - Get no life and by doing so, gain crazy amount of free time.
Step two - Get bored.
Step three - Find what you like your newly found free time to be spent at.
Step four - Produce insane amount of stuff xD

Thank you so much! ^^
There are about 8 layers, if not more, in total so I guess that helps with the depth..

NOT sure the exact reason, as my style is light years
from THIS, but I'm mesmerized by these works of yours.
They're fascinating, precise and highly crafted. Great job here!

Hmm.. that's a quite charged comment there, my friend... I'm not sure how to react to it..

It's OK not to react, as long as, in this
case, there should be NO negativity read
into it! (One possible explanation as to my first
sentence is: THAT I pour water color on paper,
and let it do it's thing...practically pure
chance. You don't do that. I rarely plan.
You plan. I'm hoping that much
may be understood!

I didn't expect any negativity from you, that's why I didn't overreact to begin with.. But things like "my style is light years from this", knowing a bit about you and about your art, I'd say you are more established than me but I don't think it's a style thing... plus calling my art highly crafted, the word craft associated with art is a red flag..
We use similar technique in very different ways, I make backdrops with it, you do what I think is very interesting problem solving type of thing, finding the elements in it that create some image for you... but don't be mistaken, nothing I do is planned... Everything that I do lately is a very intuitive interaction between me, the surface and the paints.

I certainly didn't know that the word 'Craft'
carried a red flag connotation. And I'm certainly not
relegating your work to the Arts and Craft Category.
To me, Craft is very positive word, denoting that
the artist takes special care in the rendering and
development of his/her style. I would never have
guessed your work is UNPLANNED. WOW...

Carry on with your unique paradigm. It's quite
fabulous work you do. </b>
