Metallic colors

I have this Haunting voice of one of my teachers in my head, saying that it is hard to use metallic colors in paintings and not make it look decorative...

Through out the history, gold has been often used in paintings. for example, many paintings commissioned by the church have the halo of the angels made in gold... And of course, who can forget the famous painting by Gustav Klimt "The Kiss".

Lately I started using some metallic paints and I always wonder, do they look decorative... But at the end of the day, what counts the most to me is whether I like it or not, and I do.



What appeals to me the most is the muted sheen and the always changing image under different light sources, or when viewed from different angles.
